Best Selling Small SUVs in America for September 2017
Here you will find the Small SUV sales leaders in the United States for September 2017. Each month we compile the Small SUV sales data and reports for North American markets and analyze it to create the best selling list below.
The GMC Terrain had a second consecutive month where sales were above 9,000 units. A third in October would see it overtake its YTD sales to that point in 2016 with two months left in the year.
The Chevrolet Equinox also continues its run of good fortune, with 27,512 sales in September representing 80.3% year-on-year growth for what has fast become one of Chevrolet’s biggest selling models. A strike at GM’s assembly plant in Canada, where the Equinox is manufactured, could spell trouble for it heading in to the fourth quarter of 2017, though this has yet to have been reflected in the figures. Any drop in deliveries will be cause for concern for GM in this fiercely competitive segment.
The Subaru Crosstrek remains dominant in its segment, with its 12,491 registrations in September meaning one in five of all Subcompact SUV and Crossovers sold in 2017’s ninth month were Crosstreks. It outsold its closest rival, the Jeep Renegade, by 3,141 units – one more than all Mitsubishi Outlander Sports sold this month, for perspective.
