Sales of the BMW X3 have dipped recently, as the German Compact Luxury SUV approaches the transition to a new model due around the end of the year. The X3 is still comfortably ahead in YTD terms compared with last year, with a 10.9% buffer going in to the transition.
The Infiniti QX30 saw sales rise again in August, after falling to 726 in June. While it’s a way off toppling its more established rivals in the Subcompact Luxury SUV, its growth since introduction last year has been impressive, and will be one to watch as the ageing Q3 approaches changeover to a new model, which has been spotted testing.

The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better. This explains you’ll see the XC70 listed with luxury cars as well as with SUVs and crossovers and the Touareg with luxury SUVs and mainstream SUVs… because readers have wanted it both ways.
