Our Take On The Small and Midsize Luxury Car Sales Numbers

The market for Small and Midsize Luxury cars in Canada is looking healthy heading in to the final month of the year.

While sales of Small Luxury cars fell 16.5% year-on-year in November, with the BMW 3-Series selling less than half as many cars for the month as in 2016 amidst a recall of more than 1 million cars across North America, the market as a whole is up 7.51% year-to-date.

The market for medium-sized luxury cars was even more fruitful in November; year-on-year, sales grew 32.1% with three vehicles at the top of the chart driving that growth. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class & CLS-Class contributed 215 more sales than last November, the Cadillac XTS an extra 114 sales and the BMW 5-Series a further 66 sales than last year’s performance.

Year-to-date, medium luxuries are up 14.45% at the end of November.
