Our Take On The Small and Midsize Luxury SUV Sales Numbers
Demand for small luxury SUVs continues on its upward trajectory in Canada, with both subcompact and compact luxury SUVs posting significant year-on-year increases in sales volume for the month of May.
Total sales for the four subcompact models in our chart below increased by 22.7%, boosted by another strong uptick for the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.
Compact high-riding luxury vehicles grew at an even quicker 26.1 year-on-year, with spikes for the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Porsche Macan making a big difference to the bottom line figure.
The Volvo XC60 saw the most significant year-on-year growth in the segment, with sales increasing almost threefold for the month.
There was growth too in the midsize luxury SUV segment in May, though less steep at 4.7% year-on-year.
