Our Take On The Small and Midsize Luxury SUV Sales Numbers
With three full months of the year now behind us, the Audi Q5 has a clear lead as Canada’s favourite compact SUV for 2018 so far.
In its own sub-segment, it’s more than 1200 sales ahead of the next-best-selling Lexus NX, despite a 15% growth in sales for the Japanese luxury SUV for the year so far.
Following sharp gains for the segments below in previous years, March 2018 sees that trend levelling slightly – total sales of small and midsize luxury SUVs in Canada sat roughly level, indeed 0.3% behind the sales seen last March, despite an extra selling day in the month.
Year-to-date, total sales of small and midsize luxury SUVs in Canada are 5.46% ahead after the first quarter’s sales have been reported, whereas overall growth from Q1 2016 to 2017 for the segment was 16%.
