Our Take On The Small and Midsize Luxury Cars Sales Numbers
Tesla’s ramping up of Model 3 production had a positive effect on midsize luxury sales in Canada, though without its 2000-unit contribution the picture is much bleaker for entry- and mid-size luxury vehicles in Canada for September.
Model 3 aside, midsize luxury car sales fell by 16.8% year-on year last month, while small luxury car sales were down by 16%.
Growth leader in the small premium car segment was the Audi A3, which saw sales increase by 95.3% year-on-year. The Audi A4 and rivals from BMW and Mercedes all saw sales slide.
The Infiniti Q50 also saw some growth in its sales, making September the only month of Q3 2018 that the Q50 has bettered its perfoemance year-on-year.
