The Best Selling Vehicles in Canada – September 2018 YTD
Here you will find the YTD Vehicle sales leaders in Canada for September 2018 YTD. Each month we compile passenger car sales data and reports for North American markets and analyze it to create the best selling list below.
A drop would be expected for many vehicles in the Canadian market in September, with one fewer selling day compared with last year, but the magnitude of the drop for some of the major nameplates paints a fairly scary picture amidst consumer uncertainty over a north American trade deal.
The 6.2% year-on-year drop in new vehicle sales recorded across the market marks one of the worst Septembers of Canadian auto sales since 2014.
Ford F-Series and Ram Pickup sales are down 14.7% and 10.7% respectively; similarly, traditionally sales leading SUVs like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V and Ford Escape saw steep declines in their volume for the month of September.
The gloom didn’t span all nameplates, however – Nissan’s Qashqai surpassed 2000 units in a single month in Canada for only the second time since its introduction back in May 2017, while deliveries of the Tesla Model 3 continued apace.
