Our Take On The SUV Sales Numbers
The segment-leading Toyota RAV4 continues to hog the limelight. September was the RAV4’s best month ever in the Canadian market, though its growth remains on par with the wider SUV market at 13% year-on-year.
Another month of strong growth for the Volkswagen Tiguan in September sees it shoot up the table to seventh place. Two months in a row above 2k registrations is impressive for the Tiguan, which had only broken through the 1,000 units mark 3 times in the last 12 months.
The Nissan Rogue improved on its August performance, but failed once again to grow on the same month in 2016’s figures. Its slight dip in performance may be somewhat attributable to buyers choosing its stable mate the Qashqai, which sold 1,553 units last month.
