Our Take On The Vehicle sales Numbers

The Honda Civic just manages to sneak past the Nissan Rogue, its 15% year-on-year increase managing to put it just 33 sales ahead of the Rogue, despite 43% y-o-y growth for the Nissan SUV.

This puts the Civic in fifth, sandwiched between two Japanese SUVs below the usual pickups at the top of the US Vehicle rankings.

The Honda Accord and CR-V remain close too, as the SUV slips 8% in a time of growth for the recently-renewed Accord.

The Top-10 is rounded out by the Toyota Camry – posting significant year-on-year drops after last month’s healthy growth – and the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, which has been knocking on the door of the top-10 for some time now.

Despite the boosts in sales as consumers replace flood-damaged cars, sales of all vehicles in America are down over 18,000 on October 2016’s figures, though thanks to one less selling day this year on average 1,300 more vehicles per day were sold in October 2017 than during the same month last year.
