Our Take On The Minivan Sales Numbers
Minivan sales in the U.S. started off 2019 poorly. All of the models were down with the exception of the Kia Sedona, which managed a notable sales percentage increase over last January’s numbers.
Leading the way in terms of volume was the Dodge Grand Caravan, but it saw a dramatic decrease in sales when compared to last year’s numbers.
Honda’s Odyssey was the only minivan that saw a sales decrease that wasn’t in double digits. Other models saw significant drops for January of 2019. This most definitely wasn’t the way most automakers wanted to kick off minivan sales for the year.

Important note: Both Ford and GM have switched to quarterly reporting, making it more difficult to accurately gauge crossover sales. We won’t have results to report for Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Ford or Lincoln until April 2019.
