The end of Q3 2018 sees the midsize SUV market in Canada head in to the final quarter of the year ahead of 2017’s figures by 3.42%, and some nameplates are pulling their weight more than others.

Driving the growth are the Jeep Wrangler, up almost 70% year-to date; the Volkswagen Atlas, a sturdy 135.2% rise making it the segment’s growth leader through 2018 so far; the Chevrolet Traverse, nudging the market on with its own 60% year-to-date increase in sales.

Sliding sales from the Ford Edge, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, Toyota Highlander and Nissan Murano inhibited the market from growing volume its volume year-to-date further; these higher-volume midsize SUVs have seen sales slip behind 2017’s levels.
