The Midsize SUV sales look strong. 2018 brought sale a sales increase of over 129,000 for the segment. In the month of December, sales stayed mostly flat compared to last year, with a slight uptick.

Leading the way in terms of sales volume for the year in the segment was the Ford Explorer, though it did see declines in both the month of December and the year as a whole. The new version of this model Ford recently debuted should help increase sales in the future.

The biggest decline in sales in the segment was the GMC Acadia. It saw a drop of 21.7 percent for December over this time last year and a drop of 20.4 for the year as a whole.

Midsize SUV sales should be strong in 2019.
