The GCBC Analysis
The Midsize SUV segment saw a surge in sales for the month of April. The segment was up roughly 15,000 units for the month. When you look at the YTD numbers, the segment is up 29,000 units.
Leading the pack was the Jeep Wrangler. However, it saw a notable drop in sales of almost 25 percent. The Wrangler is having a rough year so far with a drop in sales of around 15 percent.
Following the Wrangler, was the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota Highlander, Subaru Outback, and Honda Pilot rounding out the top five in terms of sales volume. Of those top five, the only the Toyota Highlander and the Subaru Outback saw increases.
Most of the other models in the segment saw sales increases or had no data to compare to from last year. Models that saw notable sales increases include the Hyundai Santa Fe, Dodge Durango, VW Atlas, and Nissan Pathfinder.
