Our Take On The Midsize SUVs Sales Numbers

Reiterating US consumers’ fondness for the SUV, the Midsize SUV sales figures chart for September has far fewer red boxes than many other segments.

The Toyota Highlander surged further forward, with an increase of 36.3% on September 2016’s sales. Its sales were bested in this segment only by the Jeep Grand Cherokee, sales of which fell slightly after August’s 23,572 high but remained 20% higher than September last year.

Nissan’s Murano and Pathfinder both faltered in the midsize segment again, though 7% drops year-on-year are far more palatable than August’s 34.6% fall for the Murano, and 35.7% for the Pathfinder. The Pathfinder is being pushed by Nissan as its luxury three-row SUV, and a 2018 model will launch with slightly increased prices to fit this.
