Best Selling Midsize Cars in America for January 2019
Here you will find the Midsize car sales leaders in the United States for January 2019. Each month we compile the Midsize car model sales data and reports for North American markets and analyze it to create the best selling list below.
Midsize Car sales were down for the first month of 2019 when compared with January of 2018. There were about 9,000 fewer sales.
Despite this overall decline. Some models saw significant sales increases. The Nissan Leaf saw the largest increase followed by the Honda Clarity FCV. The VW Passat and Kia Optima also saw notable sales increases.
On the flip side, many vehicles saw sales declines. Of the ones that stand out, the Subaru Legacy and Nissan Altima are the most notable. Other large sales decreases occurred to fringe models or ones that have been or will be discontinued.
It will be interesting to see if Midsize Cars will continue to struggle as 2019 moves forward.

Important note: Both Ford and GM have switched to quarterly reporting, making it more difficult to accurately gauge crossover sales. We won’t have results to report for Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Ford or Lincoln until April 2019.
