Our Take On The Midsize Car Sales Numbers

Sales of midsize cars in Canada are down by a third on last October, with only one car posting growth in our countdown of midsize cars with traditional internal combustion engine powertrains this month. The ubiquitous Toyota Camry stands tall with 72% growth as the rest of this segment sold significantly fewer vehicles to Canadians.

Sales of hybrids and electric cars meanwhile are up a shocking 86.2%, as all models in this mini-segment post growth year-on-year. Year-to-date, sales of hybrids and electrics are up 44% in Canada.
