In their entirety, sales were up slightly for the month of May. With that said, sales for YTD were actually down notably. However, it’s important to note the lack of sales data from Ford and GM. FCA will be following suit, soon. With that in mind let’s dig into the numbers a little.
Leading the pack was the Ram Pickup. It saw significant sale increases for the month of May. It has also seen an increase of nearly 22 percent so far this year. That particular vehicle is helping FCA’s bottom line considerably.
Following the Ram Pickup is the Toyota RAV4 and Camry. Both of which saw healthy double-digit percentage sales increases for the month although the YTD numbers look far less impressive. After those two vehicles, it’s a run of five models with monthly sales decreases and then a mixed bag of results.
Important note: Both Ford, GM and FCA have switched to quarterly reporting, making it more difficult to accurately gauge sales. We won’t have results to report for Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Lincoln, Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Dodge and Ram until the end of each quarter.
