After April’s woes, May brought little consolation across the Canadian vehicle market.
Despite an extra selling day in the month, total vehicle sales across Canada for the vehicles outlined below finished up May 2018 1.2% down on the market’s performance from a year ago.
Many of the red columns in the top half of the column indicate more than double figure drops for some of the highest-volume sellers; Ram Pickups, Dodge Grand Caravans, Hyundai Elantras, Chevrolet Cruzes and Equinoxes as well as the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Edge saw significant drops in sales year-on-year.
The Honda Civic was one of the few passenger cars to post an increase last month, its 4.2% year-on-year increase helping it hold on to a ‘podium place’ in the overall standings for May.
