Our Take On The Large SUV Sales Numbers
The Large SUV segment in Canada had a poor showing in February of 2019. The segment was down nearly 300 units when compared with last year. Despite this, the YTD numbers are only down a few units overall.
The Ford Expedition was the sales leader for the segment with a 5.4 percent increase in sales of last year February’s numbers. The only other model that saw a sales increase was the GMC Yukon XL, with a significant 18.5 percent sales percentage increase.
All other models saw double-digit sales percentage decreases. Most were well into the 20 or even 30 percentages. The Chevy Suburban saw a decrease in sales of over 50 percent, which was the largest for the month.
There’s still plenty of time for Large SUV sales to do well, but automakers have to hope these bad sales won’t continue.
