The Nissan Armada’s assault on the Large SUV segment in the USA continues – it was the 3rd best-selling Large SUV in August, pipping the GMC Yukon to the podium slot by 15 sales.
Combine total sales of the Yukon and its XL variant in August however and it takes a comfortable second behind the segment-leading Chevrolet Tahoe on which it is based.
With most of the brands in the Large SUV segment posting drops in sales year-on-year, the difference posted by the Ford Expedition versus its performance in August 2016 alone accounts for more than the segment-wide fall. It’s due to transition to a lightened and comprehensively redeveloped 2018 Expedition in autumn, which should have a positive impact on the Expedition’s numbers.
