Our Take On The Large Luxury SUV Sales Numbers

With sales up by 11% for the year after June, the Cadillac Escalade is the best-selling full-size luxury SUV for the first half of 2018.

Sales across the segment are up 3.3% thanks to the Caddy’s boost and increases from the Lincoln Navigator and Infiniti QX80, with the Escalade increasing its market share to more than a quarter of all full-size luxury SUV sales in Canada at 25.3%.

A fire at a US supplier has hampered availability of the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, with sales cut in half for the month of June and year-to-date performance off by a fifth. Meanwhile the Mercedes-Benz brand posted its best-ever half-year of sales worldwide in the company’s history.
