Large Luxury Car sales for the month of May saw a significant drop of roughly 3,000 units. In terms of YTD, the segment was down roughly 11,000 units.
At the top of the heap is the BMW 7-Series. It saw a sales increase of about four percent. Only two other models saw sales increases. They were the Audi A8 and the Kia K900. The Audi A8 managed to see a sales increase of about 168 percent. The Kia K900 saw a sales increase of about 32 percent.
In terms of YTD, the same three models saw sales increases. All other models saw double-digit percentage sales decreases for both the month and so far this year. This is expected to continue in the future if the past months have been any indication.
Important note: Ford, GM, and FCA have switched to quarterly reporting, making it more difficult to accurately gauge sales. We won’t have results to report for Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Lincoln, Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Dodge, and Ram until the end of each quarter.
