Sales of large passenger cars in Canada are behind 2017’s totals for the first half of the year by 7.14%, marking a deepening of the difference in sales performance.

Three models below have kept their sales above last year’s – the Chevrolet Impala’s sales are up by 9.9% year-to-date, though a 19.2% year-on-year drop last month put paid to it increasing its growth; the Ford Taurus, on the other hand, managed to increase its growth over the first half of the year compared with May’s total thanks to a 56-unit lift in sales compared to June 2017; and the Toyota Avalon, which received a raft of updates for the 2019 model year that have been generally well received.
