At the halfway point in the year, total sales of large cars across America are 7.44% down on where they sat at this point a year ago.
General Motors’ entrants to the chart below have seen sales drop off at a steeper rate than that; the Chevrolet Impala is behind by 11.7% after its Q2 sales were reported, while the Buick LaCrosse is down by 9.7% on the first half of 2017.
The Toyota Avalon and Kia Cadenza have seen the most substantial upticks year-to-date – the Toyota is up by 16.5%, worth a meaningful 2760 sales to this market’s bottom line and helping its share of the market for 2018 so far increase to over 11%, while the Kia’s sales for the year so far are ahead of last year’s figures by 646 units.
