Here you will find the YTD passenger car leaders in the United States for January 2019 YTD. Each month we compile passenger car sales data and reports for North American markets and analyze it to create the best selling list below.
Of the cars that rank in the top 10 in January 2019, only four models saw sales increases when compared to last year.
Toyota’s Corolla led the way in terms of overall sales volume thanks to a significant sales percentage increase over last year’s numbers. The real standout was the Volkswagen Jetta. While its volume wasn’t the highest, it saw a significant percentage increase of 51.73 percent.
The notable sales decreases in the top 10 sellers were the Nissan Sentra and Altima, with a 20.55 percent decrease and a 39.61 percent decrease respectively. Hyundai’s Elantra also saw a significant drop in sales of 29.07 percent.
Overall, there appears to be more sales decreases than increases for car sales in the first month of 2019. This is likely to continue as the year moves forward.
