The passenger car segment shrinks by 10% on last year’s sales, with significantly fewer passenger cars sold in America in January than the total number of RAV4s sold over the course of 2017.
The redesigned Camry tops the cart, with sales growing by a fifth on last January’s start to put it on top. This time last year, the Camry was third behind the Corolla and Honda Civic, so Toyota are hitting some right notes with this new model.
Subaru’s Impreza rises from fifteenth place at the start of 2017 to eleventh now, as Subaru continues its run of growth into the new year. It misses out on a spot in the top ten, with the Chevrolet Malibu well in its sights .
