Our Take On The Numbers

Crossovers and SUV sales in Canada were strong for the top two sellers in the segment. Both the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 saw sales percentage increases in the 20s.

The next three models saw similar percentage changes but in the opposite direction. The Mazda CX-5, which was in sixth place saw over an 11 percent decrease in sales.

From there there’s a slew of notable sales percentage increases from vehicles like the Hyundai Kona, Hyundai Tucson, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

After the long list of sales increases it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Overall SUV sales looked strong. However, some models saw significant sales decreases. With so many new crossovers and SUVs continuing to enter the market it will be interesting to see where sales land in the future.
