With the segment posting year-on-year growth in February of 7.5%, year-to-date SUV and crossover sales are now ahead by 8.7%.

The Nissan Rogue once again came out on top in the SUV and Crossover chart, increasing its lead year-to-date to almost 18,000 units.

FCA reported the Jeep brand’s best February sales ever as sales rose 10% year-on-year, driven by strong demand for the Wrangler and Compass, while the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee saw sales slide somewhat on last February.

Mazda attributes its brand’s strong sales growth in February to a burgeoning SUV offering, with the CX-5 posting its best-ever month for the 11th month in a row, with nigh on 70% year-on-year improvement. The larger CX-9 also fared well, though not by quite the same magnitude as its little brother.
