After a strong start to the year, Ford’s dominant Transit van sees sales drop for the first time month-on-month. Both the Nissan NV200 and its sister van the Chevrolet City Express saw strong months, with the City Express shifting more than 3 times as many units than last June – though this was not enough to fill the gap between this and last year’s year-to-date performace for the little Chevy. It seems buyers are forgoing the badge credibility afforded by the Chevrolet for the slightly cheaper price of the Nissan van, which makes sense in this sector driven by commercial pressures.
