Our Take On The Commercial Van Sales Numbers
Commercial vehicles were hot sellers for America’s second-biggest selling automaker in July, with combined sales of Ford pickups, vans and SUVs up 4.8% year-on-year.
Sales of the Transit Connect may have dipped (bringing down with it July’s sales total for all small commercial vans as the segment is heavily reliant on its figures) but the full-size Transit and E-Series lines posted significant increases for the month. The Transit almost trebled its performance from last July, boosting overall full size commercial van sales into the green for the month.
Ram experienced a similar uptick in its full size offering, though not quite of the same magnitude as Ford, while its ProMaster City small van experienced a dip last month.
