Canadian sales of large flagship luxury SUVs jumped 73% to 765 units in January 2016. The segment-leading Mercedes-Benz GL-Class enjoyed a doubling of January volume last month. Mercedes-Benz Canada sold more GLs than Cadillac and Land Rover sold Escalades and Range Rovers combined.
And it was a very good month for the Range Rover. Sales of Land Rover’s flagship also doubled.

Infiniti QX80 sales more than tripled. Lexus, Lincoln, and Mercedes-Benz added 34 LX, Navigator, and G-Class sales.
Cadillac Escalade volume was flat, but the Escalade and Escalade ESV remain major players among full-size luxury SUVs.
Canadians registered nearly 43,000 SUVs and crossovers in January 2016. 1.8% of those sales are visible in the table below.
