June 2012 Minivan Sales Chart Click Either Chart For A Larger View |
36% of the trucks sold in Canada in June were Ford F-Series pickups. Another 30% of the trucks sold last month were GMC Sierras and Chevrolet Silverados. 23% were Rams. These four trucks basically accounted for nine out of every ten pickups registered in June 2012.
The F-Series is a dominant machine, but in terms of how it compares to the rest of its segment, it has nothing on the Dodge Grand Caravan preeminence. For the second time this year, sales of the Grand Caravan increased on a year-over-year basis. 58% of the minivans sold in Canada in June were Grand Caravans; another 4% were Chrysler Town & Countrys.

June 2012 Truck Sales Chart |
Back to the smaller pickup players, non-full-size trucks collectively accounted for just 7% of all trucks sold in Canada last month. The best-selling Tacoma finished June 439 sales ahead of the second-ranked Nissan Frontier. And the second-ranked minivan? Toyota’s Sienna grabbed just 12% of the Canadian minivan market last month, 46 points behind the Grand Caravan.
