Our Take Brand & Corporation Rankings

At the end of the second quarter of 2018, the Canadian auto market is behind its performance over the first half of 2017, though only by a not-insurmountable 0.79%.

Sales projections from earlier in the year suggested that the market would crack the two million units barrier, but narrowly miss out on a record year-end total for the first time in five years.

With this being the fourth month in a row that Canadian auto sales have fallen year-on-year, it looks like those predictions may be on the money.

June wasn’t all bad news however; Nissan closed out Q2 with its best month of sales ever in the Canadian market, with Korean, Japanese and European automakers in the midfield overall faring better than the larger players at the top of the manufacturers table through the sixth month of 2018.
