Canada Automotive Market: Brand and Corporation Sales Rankings for February 2019
Here you will find the rankings of all the major automotive brands and corporations selling vehicles in the Canada market. Each month we compile the sales data and reports for North American markets and analyze it to create the best selling list below. Note that the data trickles in throughout the day early in the month and we will update you in real time as we get the data.
Our Take Brand & Corporation Rankings
Auto sales in Canada were led by Ford when it comes to brands and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles actually beat out Ford when it comes to automakers.
On the brand side of things, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Chevrolet, and Nissan were the top five highest sellers in the month of February. Of those top brands, only Honda saw a sales increase over this time last year.
Ford and Toyota only saw slight declines in sales for the month. However, Chevrolet and Nissan saw double-digit percentage decreases.
The split on the number of brands that saw sales percentage increases was about even with the brands that saw sales percentage decreases. However, the total volume differed from last month. Overall, about 12,000 more sales occurred in February than did in January.
The top five automakers in Canada in terms of sales volume for February were FCA, Ford, General Motors, Toyota, and Honda. Toyota and Honda were the only two automakers of the top five that saw sales percentage increases.
The biggest percentage decrease for an automaker overall was Daimler with over a 22 percent decrease. The largest increase was Tesla with a more than 422 percent rise in sales.
