Each month we compile the sales data and reports for North American markets and analyze it to create the best selling list below. Canadian auto sales continue to show growth in February 2018, though at less of a rate as was seen in January.
Total vehicle sales for February increased 2.2% year-on-year over last February’s results, keeping the year-to-date total a healthy 3.9% ahead of this point last year.
This growth is despite some big names in the automakers chart seeing sales recede compared with this point last year. Chrysler Group and Ford Motor Company are both behind their sales to this point last year, with Toyota Motor Corporation a mere 0.5% ahead of its sales to the end of February 2017 in Canada.
Chrysler’s drop comes despite Jeep’s run of good sales of late, bolstered by a recently-refreshed lineup that includes the 2018 Wrangler and the strong-selling Compass.
Those gains at Jeep are contrasted by steep drops for Ram however, with the two brands near on par as Ram sales fell 11.3% on last Feb, meaning Jeep’s sales volume overtakes it for 2018 so far.
General Motors meanwhile sits pretty with 11.7% growth to this point year-to-date over last year, as the Chevrolet brand increased sales by more than a fifth – accounting for more than 60% of GM’s overall sales last month.
Honda Motor Company, Subaru and Volkswagen Group preserves their growth over 2018’s performance to date, with each keeping firmly in the green with February’s sales reported.
