Canadian passenger car sales continued to slide in August despite strong months for some large-volume brands in this segment.
Toyota saw its passenger car sales increase 1.2% year-on-year on the back of a sharp increase in Camry sales, while the best-selling passenger car, the Honda Civic, increased its total on last August by 3.2%.
The Tesla Model 3’s rapidly ramped-up deliveries gave Canadian hybrid and electric sales a shot in the arm, with the all-electric vehicle becoming the sixteenth-biggest selling passenger car in the country on the back of an estimated 2000 deliveries.
Other hybrid and electrics saw sharp gains, with the new Nissan Leaf adding a further 1000 sales to this category.
