Overall, sales were down for the month of April in Canada. The YTD sales numbers were also down. Leading the way was the Ford F-Series, which wasn’t a big surprise. With that said, the F-Series sales were down almost five percent.
Following the Ford F-Series, was the Ram Pickup, Honda Civic, Toyota RAV4, and Honda CR-V. Of those top sellers, only the Ram Pickup and the Toyota RAV4 saw increases in sales for the month. The increases, however, were notable ones with both of them in the double-digit percentages.
Other models with notable sales increases and significant sales volume included the Jeep Wrangler, Hyundai Kona, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Nissan Qashqai, Ford Transit, and VW Jetta.
While those vehicles and others saw sales increases, they were not enough to bring the entire sales numbers up to match last year’s numbers.
Important note: Both Ford, GM and FCA have switched to quarterly reporting, making it more difficult to accurately gauge sales. We won’t have results to report for Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Lincoln, Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Dodge and Ram until the end of each quarter.
