The midsize luxury SUV segment appears to be struggling to match the sales numbers it saw last year. The segment was down for both the month of October and YTD.
The segment was down by about 570 units for the month of October. When you look at the segment from a YTD perspective, you’ll see that the segment has been down by about 2,400 units.
Leading the pack is the Lexus RX by quite a lot. The RX, however, has had a rough month and a rough year. It was down about 10 percent for the month and down by over 11 percent so far this year. It was followed by the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class which was also down for the month and YTD. Rounding out the top three was the BMW X5, which saw a drop in sales of about eight percent for the month and an increase in sales of about 24 percent so far this year.
We expect sales to continue on this path in the next couple of months of 2019. They will also likely be about the same in 2020.
Data will trickle in throughout the day with the numbers being finalized by EOD.
