Midsize luxury car sales in Canada didn’t look very good at all. The segment was down considerably for the month of November. When you look at the YTD sales the segment was down but not by as much as November’s numbers would have you expect.
The segment was down by about 2,000 sales when compared to the month of November last year. The segment was down only about 1,000 sales when you look at the YTD numbers.
November was especially bad. A huge part of the decline in sales was the Tesla Model 3 it was down by an even 80 percent when compared to November of last year. However, it wasn’t the only model down. All but two models on sale saw sales decline in November.
When you look YTD, the segment fared better, but the vast majority of vehicles still saw sales decline. We’d expect similar results in December. We also don’t expect this segment to fare well in 2020.
