Auto News For Tuesday, March 24, 2015 – Jaguar Extends F-Type Warranty

Volkswagen Polo GTI
Here are five must-read, must-watch auto news stories, reviews, and videos for Tuesday, March 24, 2015.

REVIEW
evo’s David Vivian reviewed the latest Volkswagen Polo GTI. It has plaid seats, just like the GTI we can buy. But, “It simply doesn’t do down ‘n’ dirty,” Vivian says.

INSIDE THE AUTO BUSINESS
Consumers who couldn’t quite take the Jaguar plunge will have three fewer barriers when they start thinking about an F-Type lease this spring. The F-Type’s warranty for MY2016 will be extended to 5 years/60,000, a free maintenance package lasts just as long, and the $65,000 base price now includes more equipment, Autoblog reports.  The F-Type is already a relatively hot seller.

TTAC
Volkswagen might try North America’s van market again. Which makes us wonder, just how much of a flop was the Routan?

RECALL
Mercedes-Benz is recalling 3039 2015 C300 4Matic and C400 4Matic sedans because a fuel delivery module might be pinched. Mercedes-Benz is also recalling 30,141 CLS-Class sedans (2015 CLS400/CLS400 4Matic, 2012-2015 CLS550/CLS550 4Matic, 2012-2014 CLS63 AMG, 2014-2015 CLS63P AMG) for LED taillights that may not light on the sides. Toyota is recalling 16,582 2012-2015 Yaris subcompacts in Puerto Rico because the vehicles fail to comply with FMVSS No. 201.
