“The dealer profitability in this country is my first objective,” Volkswagen of America boss Michael Horn told a congressional panel last week. But dealers are already very worried that the latest cash infusion from Volkswagen won’t be nearly enough to cover a downturn’s losses.

INSIDE THE AUTO INDUSTRY
As Fiat Chrysler Automobiles prepares its Ferrari initial public offering, the brand’s value has been set at $9.8 billion. FCA will be offering 10% of Ferrari’s value to new shareholders. 

RECALL
Mazda is recalling 14,406 copies of the 3 compact car (model years 2015 and 2016) because they’re, “equipped with a fuel tank with a shut-off valve that can allow fuel to enter into the fuel tank emissions systems.

JEEP
In the next few weeks, our test of a 2015 Jeep Renegade will be forgotten, displaced by memories of a Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel review. In Road & Track’s long-term test, they averaged more than 700 miles per tank.
