US – Sports Car Sales Figures

The GCBC Analysis

Sporty car sales in the U.S. didn’t look too good for the most part for the month of August. Muscle car sales were down significantly. Premium Sports cars and misc. sports cars were down, too.

The European sports car sales, however, were up considerably. This is partly due to the fact that the BMW 8-Series and the Z4 are new for the segment.

When you look at the YTD numbers, you’ll notice that muscle car sales and misc. sports car sales are significantly down. When you look at European and premium sports cars they both are up so far this year.

It’ll be interesting to see if the premium sports car market can turn things around in the coming months. We expect the muscle car and misc. sports car segments to continue to struggle.
