US – Large Car Sales Figures

The GCBC Analysis

Without Ford, GM, and FCA’s large cars factored into this report, the segment looks pretty bare. Those companies report quarterly, so the numbers for their cars are not available.

Of the sales stats that we do have, the Nissan Maxima leads the pack and it had a very good month indeed, selling more than 30 percent more models in August than it did in this month last year.

The Toyota Avalon and Kia K900 also both saw sales rise for the month of August. The Kia Cadenza, however, failed to see sales rise in August.

It’s a different story when you look YTD. The only car that managed to see sales rise YTD is the K900.

It will be interesting to see where Ford, GM, and FCA cars land in terms of sales for this segment. We wonder if they also had a good month of August.

Below you will find sales figures for all large cars sold in the United States broken down by month and by quarter.

We will report August 2019 Automotive Sales beginning on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019, beginning around 10 AM ET.

Data will trickle in throughout the day with the numbers being finalized by EOD. GCBC is also happy to announce that we will be adding quarterly sales reports and comparisons in addition to monthly sales comparisons beginning this quarter. We will also be adding monthly sales tables and charts to the mix as well.

Note: FCA US LLC will end its practice of reporting U.S. and Canada sales on a monthly basis following June results. FCA US and FCA Canada will report monthly sales for May and June. The first quarterly report will occur on October 1, 2019, covering the months of July, August, and September.
