About GCBC

The original mission of GoodCarBadCar was to advance, promote, and aggrandize the Good Car. Hand in hand with that, GoodCarBadCar always had at heart an assignment that would, in effect, dethrone the bad car, banish the frumpy car, and eliminate boring vehicular abominations. Preferably sooner rather than later.

As the audience of GoodCarBadCar.net grew and grew.... and grew, it became increasingly clear that manufacturer-sourced automotive sales figures were central to GoodCarBadCar's mission, as well. Seasons come and seasons go, and there are times when the best cars sell poorly and the worst cars are tremendously successful. GoodCarBadCar's Editor-In-Chief, its sole writer, isn't afraid to point out these occurrences.

GoodCarBadCar.net is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. GoodCarBadCar's team includes The Good Car Guy, Timothy Cain, and his main opinion-forming assistance, The Good Car Girl, Steffani Cain. Appealing mainly to North Americans (50% of GCBC's audience is in the United States, 33% in Canada), GoodCarBadCar.net attempts to incorporate as many unique forms of auto sales analysis as is possible by one freelance writer and one very part-time grammatical/design/photographic partner.

The Good Car Guy is a freelance writer whose work appeared in a major newspaper's automotive section for a number of years. GoodCarBadCar.net is a natural outgrowth of his "On Roads 'Round Here" articles which were published in print form in eastern Canada. His straight-goods-real-deal-where-the-tire-hits-the-road approach has been available on your screen since March of 2007.

For a young-ish person, The Good Car Guy has driven an unnatural percentage of new and used cars on roads these days; whether by way of his status as an auto blogger at GM's Milford Proving Grounds or as a car nut whose friends, family, and acquaintances give up their driver's seat to sate his auto appetite.

The Good Car Guy, aka Timothy Cain, speaks the thoughts of a generation that is frequently found buying or leasing their first new car. Analysis of Sales Stats admittedly stems from his perspective as a youthful lover of small, fun, unique, funky automobiles, those which stand out from the pack.

Timothy Cain is The Good Car Guy because he is a guy whose cause is to advance the good car and dethrone the bad car. He is The Good Car Guy because he is a guy, and his purpose is to further the cool car and banish the boring car. The "good" part of his title has nothing to do with being a good guy, although he strives to be such.
