Canada – Sports Car Sales Figures

The GCBC Analysis

Muscle cars and misc sports cars both saw sales drop for the month of July. When you look YTD, the segments were all down.

The muscle car segment saw a decrease of about 200 units for the month. The Dodge Challenger was the only model that saw a sales rise over this month last year. YTD, however, the segment was down roughly 1,400 units.

The European sports car segment was down for both the month of June and for the year so far. For the month it was only down a few models, but the segment was down by a couple of hundred units so far this year.

When you look at the premium sports car sales, you’ll see that the segment is up for the month but down for the year. Again, it was up just a little for the month, but the segment saw sales drop by a couple of hundred units so far this year.

The misc. sports car sales suffered. That segment was down by about a couple of hundred units for the month and is down a couple of thousand units so far this year.

It’ll be interesting to see how things shape up for the rest of the year. European sports cars and premium sports cars can likely get back on track, but misc. sports cars will likely continue to see drops in sales. Muscle cars may, too, depending on how the segment goes.

Below you will find sales figures for all sports cars sold in Canada broken down by month.
