Best-Selling Pickup Trucks In America – May 2019

The GCBC Analysis

It’s tough to really get a good idea of how truck sales are going month to month due to the fact that both Ford and GM are reporting quarterly. FCA will follow suit soon. With that said, let’s take a look at the data that we do have.

Leading the pack is the Ram Pickup. Ram’s continued momentum in this segment is one of FCA’s bright spots right now. The brand’s truck is a quality item and more advanced than much of the competition, driving further sales increases. It will be interesting to see where that lands in comparison to Ford and GM’s offerings.

One of the big declines for the segment is the Nissan Titan it was down roughly 16 percent for the month and nearly 20 percent YTD. That’s not good for Nissan. However, it’s little Frontier midsize truck had a good month, though it’s down YTD, too.

The Honda Ridgeline was the only other model that we have data for that saw a decline in sales. It’s actually up by a little over a single percent when you look YTD. The midsize market is difficult to analyze as well. The Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, and new Ford Ranger are not included. We’ll be interested to see how the segment’s numbers change once the quarter ends and we can see all of the data.
