The GCBC Analysis
Pickup truck sales in Canada were down by around 400 units. Despite the only slight decline for all truck sales, seven of the 13 models saw sales decreases. YTD sales were also down, with similar models seeing decreases and increases.
The Ford F-Series led the way for the month. It saw a sales decrease of roughly five percent. Following the Ford was the Ram Pickup which saw a surge in sales of about 30 percent. Sliding into third was the Chevrolet Silverado with a decrease in sales of 18 percent.
When broken down into midsize and fullsize pickup truck segments, you can see where the majority of truck sales is happening. The fullsize trucks sell far more models but midsize trucks.
However, midsize truck sales saw an increase for both the month and YTD numbers. Fullsize truck sales were down for both the month and YTD.
