Our Take On The Small SUVs Sales Numbers

Small SUV sales in America saw an increase in the month of January over this time last year. That increase, however, was slight. With only about 400 more models selling than January of last year. Of course, it’s important to note that Ford and GM’s sales numbers are not included in this due to quarterly reporting.

Leading the way in terms of sales volume was the Honda CR-V. It saw an increase of almost 20 percent when compared with this time last year.

Following the CR-V was the Nissan Rogue, though it saw a sales decrease of 27.8 percent when compared to January 2018. Rounding out the top three in terms of sales volume was the Toyota RAV4. It saw a slight decrease of about 8 percent when compared with this time last year.

Standout models for sales increases include the Dodge Journey with a jump over 115 percent. The Subaru Forester also saw a significant jump of over 22 percent.

It will be interesting to see if SUV and crossover sales continue to rise as 2019 continues.
