Our Take On The Large SUV Sales Numbers

Large SUV sales in Canada got off to a good start in 2019. January sales numbers were up this year over last by almost 300 units.

The segment leader in terms of overall sales volume was the Chevrolet Tahoe. Chevy’s SUV may have been the leader, but it still saw a 13.7 percent decrease in sales when compared to this month last year.

The GMC Yukon may have pulled some sales away from Chevy. Both the Yukon and the Yukon XL sold reasonably well in January 2019. The standout model that saw the largest increase was the Nissan Armada. It went from selling 54 models last year to selling 118.

It wasn’t all good news. The Ford Expedition sales dropped over 22 percent and the Toyota Sequoia sales were down almost 11 percent.
