Our Take On The Large Luxury Cars Sales Numbers
While Lexus sales volume overall fell by 7.1% in August, the LS large luxury sedan enjoyed a boost to its sales compared with a year ago.
LS sales soared by 123.5% to 923 units for the month, marking the nameplate’s best August performance since 2010 and roughly on pace with its growth year-to-date at 124.8%.
BMW’s 6- and 7-Series provided an uplift for the German brand, while the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Porsche Panamera were among the other European plates to grow sales.
Luxury offerings from Korea fared less well in August, with the Genesis G90 selling less than half what it did last August and the Kia K900’s sales dwindling with a new model on the way, anticipated later this autumn.
